WHY THE GREAT DEPRESSION DID NOT RETURN AFTER WWII, 12 April 2009
This paper discusses the economic effects of demobilisation in the USA in 1945 and how forecasts of the return of the Great Depression did not materialise. This was despite the sudden increase in the available civilian labour force (12 million people) and the huge reductions in government spending. Understanding the reasons for this, is the key to British and American government action in the present day.
AMERICA MUST START DRILLING FOR OIL, 14 August 2008
A short, pre-fracking article discussing why America should scrap restrictions on drilling for oil. It discloses that there are remarkable restrictions on drilling for oil in the USA and that most of the territorial waters are closed to exploration, as are federal owned lands.

Through examination of NHS statistics, this article reveals that the number of hospital beds in the UK has fallen by some 75% since 1948, despite a population increase of over 30%. To mark the 60th anniversary of the National Health Service it analyses how the NHS expropriated the existing voluntary health services in 1948 and questions the value the NHS has brought to how healthcare is provided in the present day.
