DEMOGRAPHY
ACCELERATION OF DEMOGRAPHIC CHANGE, 19 November 2006
This article demonstrates that, unlike the USA, the UK is both a country of immigration and emigration and it is, therefore, more sensitive to demographic change which has increased faster than in the USA. It reveals that, in the nine years to 2005, 619,000 British people left the UK and 2,014,000 non-British arrived and, therefore, 4-1/2% of the British population changed in nine years.
